If you or someone you know is in need of financial assistance to help cover their energy bill this winter, West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative is offering some relief. Kentucky households can apply for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) fall subsidy through their local community action agency. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until December 12, 2025 or funds run out. This program provides eligible households with a one-time benefit to assist with home heating costs this winter. the benefit amount depends on housing category, fuel type used for heating, and income level. It can be applied toward costs for electric, natural gas, propane, coal, wood, or fuel oil. benefits are paid directly to the household’s energy vendor.
