In honor of Veterans Day, Quilts of Valor held a special ceremony Tuesday night at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah.
Veterans, their families, and community members gathered as handmade quilts were presented to honor local heroes for their service.
The event opened with the Paducah Police Department Honor Guard, followed by the presentation of quilts to two officers.
Organizer Nancy Cann led the ceremony on behalf of Quilts of Valor Western Kentucky.
The museum is also featuring a “Quilts of Valor: Countdown to America 250” exhibition — free for veterans and active service members through November.
