Graves County At Murray State University’s Racer Classic

The Graves County Speech Team had a strong showing this weekend at the Murray State University Racer Classic. The team earned multiple individual awards and finished second overall in the competition. Their season continues later this month as they prepare to host the Graves County High School Eagle Invitational on November 22nd.

Keile Allen – 3rd place

Gavin Kimbro – 5th place

Dramatic Interpretation:

Keile Allen – 1st place

Extemporaneous Speaking:

Collin Cornelius – 5th place

Viresh Kalyankar – 6th place

Humorous Interpretation:

Gavin Jones – Co-Champion, in an unbreakable tie for 1st place.

Lukas Johnson – 6th place

Impromptu Speaking:

Viresh Kalyankar – 4th place

Sofie Bugar – 5th place

Gavin Jones – 6th place

Improvisational Duo:

Collin Cornelius and Wyatt King – 5th place

Informative Speaking:

Frankie Vowell – 1st place

Nick Goddard – 2nd place

Wyatt King – 3rd place

Program Oral Interpretation:

Autumn Langston – 1st place

Cambria Marks – 2nd place

Prose:

Charlie Feezor – 3rd place

The Graves County Middle School speech team also had a strong day at Murray State University, competing alongside the high school team. Coaches say they’re seeing significant improvement, with several students earning high-ranking finishes. The Graves County Middle School team will take the stage again at the Graves County High School Invitational on November 22nd.
