Murray State University issued a Timely Warning to students on Sunday following an assault that occurred early Saturday morning at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house. According to officials, four males are accused of assaulting a victim, and multiple firearms were reportedly brandished during the incident before the suspects fled in a white SUV.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 12:57 a.m. on November 22, responding to reports of a fight involving a weapon. In a press release issued Monday, the Murray Police Department said initial findings showed that several individuals had struck the victim—including one suspect who allegedly struck them with a firearm.

The suspects fled before officers arrived.

The Murray State Police assisted city police by increasing patrols in surrounding areas following the incident. The university said the Timely Warning was issued “out of an abundance of caution.” At this time, police say there is no indication of an ongoing threat to campus or the wider community.

The warning followed a brief email sent to students on Sunday, confirming that the university was aware of the incident and that the case is under active investigation by Murray Police.

Murray State News reached out to Interfraternity Council President Will Van Horn, who declined to comment out of respect for the victim and referred inquiries to the university’s official statement.

The incident remains under investigation. University officials have declined further comment at this time.
