Despite cold temperatures and steady rain, the holiday spirit shone bright during the Mayfield Lions Club Christmas Parade — and organizers are expressing gratitude to everyone who took part.

The Lions Club thanked all who bundled up to ride on floats, marched in the procession, or waited along the parade route to watch the event. “Whether you rode in the cold or stood in the rain to cheer, we hope the parade brought a little holiday spirit to everyone involved,” their statement read.

This year’s parade winners were announced in the following categories:

Industrial: Progress Rail

Retail: PetSense

Church: John 3:16 Church

Non-Profit: Sons of the Confederate Veterans

The Lions Club also thanked the parade judges — Tracey Warner of Graves County Emergency Management and James Stovall of Larry, Darrell and Darrell Bar-B-Que — for lending their time and expertise. Several individuals and businesses were recognized for their support in helping make the parade possible, including: WYMC Radio, Alex Goodman (Mayfield-Graves County Tourism Chair), Mayfield Police Department, Mayfield Public Works, Graves County Sheriff’s Department, Mayfield-Graves County Rescue Squad, Awardmasters, and The Snappy Tomato.
