SHARE NOW

As Christmas approaches, Graves County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP) is putting out a call for holiday sponsors to help several local families who are still in need this year.

Through the organization’s Adopt-A-Family program, community members can step in and provide gifts, essentials and support to families facing hardship. Although applications for assistance are now closed, a number of families are still waiting for sponsors.

Families currently needing support include:

Family of 5 — three boys, ages 11, 12 and 13

Family of 4 — a 6-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl

Family of 3 — one 11-year-old child

Family of 2 — a father and his 8-year-old son

Family of 2 — one 9-year-old child

In addition to gift sponsorships, ASAP says many families are also in need of warm blankets, hygiene items, food baskets and household supplies.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact Graves County ASAP directly. If additional families become available, the organization will continue matching them with sponsors as quickly as possible.

ASAP expressed appreciation for the community’s continued generosity, noting that even one donation can make a meaningful difference for a family this Christmas
