CLINTON, Ky. (Dec. 12, 2024) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) held a public meeting in Hickman County today, Thursday, Dec. 12 to update the public on efforts to improve safety, access, and regional connectivity along U.S. 51 in the city of Clinton. Thirty-three citizens attended the meeting at Hickman Co. High School.

The project, which is still in the preliminary design phase, calls for improved pedestrian mobility throughout downtown Clinton, incorporating all downtown businesses and extending to the Farmers Market. Displays presented at the meeting included options for sidewalks and multi-use paths, as well as improved on-street parking around the courthouse.

Attendees were able to view exhibits, talk to KYTC staff and project team members and ask questions about the project.

Those who were unable to attend the meeting may view displays and materials at the KYTC District One office in Paducah, where comments may also be submitted. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., CST.

Comments also may be mailed before January 30, 2025, to Austin Hart, Branch Manager Project Development, KYTC District 1 Office, 5501 Kentucky Dam Rd., Paducah, Kentucky 42003. All written comments will become part of the official meeting record.
