LIHEAP Applications Available For Heating Crisis

SHARE NOW

Kentucky households facing heating emergencies can apply for Crisis assistance from January 6 through March 27, 2026.

The program helps eligible households — those earning up to 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines — with heating costs for electric, natural gas, propane, coal, wood, or fuel oil. Applicants must be experiencing a heating crisis and provide a disconnect notice, past-due bill, or eviction notice. Benefits are paid directly to the energy provider.

Applications are accepted first-come, first-served, and prior LIHEAP assistance does not affect eligibility. To apply, contact your local Community Action Agency or visit capky.org/network to find your nearest office.
