Plans are underway for this year’s Mayfield Christmas Parade, and organizers are inviting the community to join in the celebration. The parade will be held Saturday, November 29th with participation lineup beginning at 3:30 p.m. in front of Mayfield Middle School, located at 7th and College Street. The parade itself will begin at 6 p.m.
The parade route will start on 7th Street, turn right onto Broadway, then right onto 6th Street, and release at Walgreens. There is no entry fee this year, though donations are appreciated.
Participants Encouraged to Join, and organizers are welcoming:
- Show cars and antique cars
- Motorcycles
- Fire departments
- School bands
- Businesses, civic groups, and churches interested in entering floats
This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World.”
All floats must include lights and be 13 feet tall or less from the ground to their highest point.
To assist radio announcers during the parade, each float must clearly display the name of the business, organization, or church on the right-hand side. While floats require lights, show cars and antique cars are not required to have them, due to the cost of their paintwork.
Additional Guidelines:
- Trophies will be awarded for standout entries
- Participants are asked to avoid wearing Santa costumes, as there will be only one official Santa in the parade
