The Mayfield–Graves County Long Term Recovery Group has released its 2025 Impact Report, detailing the strides made since the December 2021 tornado and the April 2025 storms.

As the organization enters the final phases of active recovery, MGC LTRG announced that operations will begin scaling down. Staffing and office hours will be reduced as the group transitions into what leaders call a “new season of service.”

Despite the shift, the organization emphasized its continued commitment to Graves County and the broader west Kentucky region.

Moving forward, MGC LTRG will prioritize disaster readiness efforts, including:

  • Warehousing critical emergency supplies
  • Expanding its disaster-ready network
  • Providing logistical support to community partners
  • Hosting disaster preparedness workshops
  • Rebuilding community blessing boxes
  • Supporting households impacted by fire

The group will also continue collaborating with the Disaster Readiness Center of West Kentucky to preserve institutional knowledge, support other long-term recovery groups, and strengthen regional preparedness efforts.

Through mitigation programming, education, and strategic partnerships, MGC LTRG is transitioning from long-term recovery into proactive preparation — working to ensure the community is better equipped for the next disaster, whenever it may come.
