On Wednesday, a potential threat at Mayfield Middle School was brought to attention as students were leaving the building.
The school, along with the Mayfield Police Department, took appropriate action and determined that the threat was unsubstantiated.
Superintendent Billy Edwards put out a statement stating that they take every statement seriously and investigate to ensure there is no cause for concern for their schools.
“As always, safety for our students, faculty, and staff is our greatest priority,” said Edwards.
