PADUCAH, KY — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has announced a temporary closure of the U.S. 45 Ohio River ‘Brookport’ Bridge on Monday and Tuesday, July 1st and 2nd, 2024.

The closure will begin promptly at 8 a.m. CDT on Monday and is expected to last until about 5 p.m. on Tuesday. This closure is necessary to allow a contractor to perform milling and paving work on the Kentucky approaches to the bridge. Due to the nature of the work and equipment placement, the bridge will remain closed overnight.

During the 2-day closure period, the City of Brookport will conduct maintenance on storm drainage valves and piping near a manhole at the Illinois end of the bridge.

No official detour will be marked. Motorists are advised to use Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge as a self-detour route.

Once again, the U.S. 45 Ohio River ‘Brookport’ Bridge will be closed from 8 a.m. on Monday through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1st and 2nd, to facilitate these necessary maintenance activities.
