Median work planned immediately south of I-24 Exit 7 near Whitehaven

PADUCAH, Ky. (March 25, 2024)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a work zone lane restriction along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road in front of Whitehaven Welcome Center in McCracken County on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

This work zone lane restriction along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road is immediately south of the I-24 Paducah Exit 7 eastbound connector road and entry ramp extending southward about 60 feet toward the Martin Circle intersection.

This work zone is expected to be in place from 8:30 a.m., CDT, to about Noon, Tuesday.  Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

The southbound left turn lane to the I-24 eastbound ramp will be restricted in this work zone.  All northbound traffic on U.S. 45 will move to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach this area near Whitehaven Welcome Center.  The location of this traffic restriction along U.S. 45 is also likely to impact traffic on the I-24 Paducah Exit 7 eastbound connector road (Jack Paxton Boulevard).

The KYTC McCracken County Highway Maintenance Crew plans to make some adjustments to the center turn lane that was constructed in December.
