Glynn McClainMurray, KY

Glynn McClain, 94 years old and a 52-year school bus driver for the Graves County School District, passed away peacefully December 12, 2025, at the Spring Creek Nursing Center in Murray, KY.

Mr. McClain was a member of the Bell City Church of Christ, later consolidated with the Lynnville Church of Christ.  He was an army veteran having served in the Korean War, 1951 - 1953.

Glynn (Papaw as his grandkids and great grandkids called him) is survived by his son, Gary McClain of Mayfield, KY; two grandchildren, Whitney McClain (Derek) Hopperton of Cincinnati, OH and Dustin (Allie) McClain of Murray, KY; and seven great grandchildren, Ella, Marcus, and Katie Jane Hopperton and Conlee, Brex, Everlee and Elsee McClain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly West McClain; five brothers, Otis, Novis, Bill, W.D. and Milton McClain; two sisters, Dorothy McClure and Odell Wilkerson; and his parents, Wesley Wayne McClain and Ida Davis McClain Harris.

Funeral services for Mr. Glynn McClain will be 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Dustin McClain (grandson) and Derek Hopperton (grandson-in-law) will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens Mausoleum located at 3223 US-641 S., Murray, KY 42071.

Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26.

Pallbearers are Gary McClain, Dustin McClain, Derek Hopperton, Richard Cox and Dwayne Mathis.  Junior pallbearers are Marcus Hopperton and Brex McClain.  Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandchildren: Ella Hopperton, Katie Jane Hopperton, Conlee McClain, Everlee McClain, Elsee McClain along with Presley Sadler.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the funeral home.
