Mr. Hal C. Stephens, age 89, of Mayfield passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at his residence.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, a graduate of Sedalia High School, a volunteer with the Mayfield-Graves County Needline, a custodian with First Presbyterian Church, a retired employee of SK&W Alloys in Calvert City and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife, Brenda Stephens; one son, Bobby (Jean)Stephens of Mayfield, KY; two daughters, Lisa (Dave) Hand of Grampian, PA and Christy (T.J.) Prince of Sharon, TN; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Stephens; twelve grandchildren, Joey (Sarepta) Elliott, Jamie (Alyssa) Elliott, Jason (Norma) Elliott, Josh (Melissa) Elliott, John Kyle (Madison) Stephens, Kayla Stephens, Haley (Marvin) Brown, Matthew Grissom, Alex (Lacey) Insco, Ty (Haley) Prince, Carrie (Chuck) Maxie and Angie (Jessie) Rizzie; twenty-five great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Stephens and his parents, Ollie Stephens and Manon Story.
Funeral services for Mr. Hal C. Stephens will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Mark Stephens and Gary Dick will officiate. Interment will follow at Mayfield Memory Gardens.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26.
Pallbearers will be Joey Elliott, Jamie Elliott, Josh Elliott, Jason Elliott, John Kyle Stephens, Matthew Grissom, Alex Insco and Ty Prince.
Visitation will be 10:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
