Jace “Bubba” Nelson
April 6, 2006 - November 28, 2025

Jace “Bubba” Nelson, 19, of Mayfield, Kentucky, passed peacefully at his home on Friday, November 28, 2025. Though his time on earth was brief, Jace filled every moment with joy, sincerity, and a love for others that touched everyone who knew him.

A proud graduate of Mayfield High School, Class of 2024, Jace was also a dedicated member of Solid Rock Gospel Church. His faith was the heartbeat of his life. He served as a prayer partner alongside his pastor, Bro. Tim Warren, lifting up the needs of friends, neighbors, and his entire community every single day. Jace had a gentle spirit and a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Jace found happiness in the simple things—he loved spending time watching YouTube videos and found pure delight in riding and watching school buses. His fascination with them was known by all who loved him, and he held a special fondness for his bus driver, Mr. Keith “Hi Keith” Hill, whose friendship and kindness meant the world to him.

Those left to cherish Jace’s memory include his loving and devoted mother, Amanda Nelson; grandparents, Tucker and Ann Nelson of Mayfield, Jo Ann Roy of Mayfield, and JB Lamb of Sedalia; his sister, Annslie Black of Mayfield; bonus sisters, Devan Sanderson of Lexington and Adyson Morris Goalder of Graves County; and two of his closest friends, Khorie Fox and Quiqui Fox, who brought laughter and companionship into his life. Jace was preceded in death by his great-uncle, Roy Smithson, and his grandmother, Patricia Faye Lamb, whose memories he held close.

Funeral services for Jace “Bubba” Nelson will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, with Bro. Tim Warren officiating. Jace will be laid to rest at Highland Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home, and again on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Hefner, Hunter Hefner, James Miller, April Wright, Keith Hill, Joe Goalder, Levi Worley, and Jerome Owens. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Miller and the past and present staff of the Mayfield Independent School System, all of whom played a meaningful role in Jace’s life.
