Robert Michael "Butch" Thompson, age 72, of Hickory, KY passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
Butch was a retired truck driver and mechanic. He attended Yahweh Baptist Church in Mayfield, KY.
Butch is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Snodgrass of Paducah, KY; father, Bill Thompson of Hickory, KY; two brothers, Mark E. (Alicia) Thompson of Hickory, KY and Jimmy (Jan) Thompson of Hattiesburg, MS; one sister, Sandy (Larry) Mittendorf of Gilbertsville, KY; one granddaughter, Whitney (John) Yocum also survives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Sue Draffen Thompson and one brother, Bill Thompson.
A funeral service for Robert Michael "Butch" Thompson is scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Bro. Steve Heisner and Rev. Bob Waldridge will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Mark Thompson, Brad Watson, Patrick Young, John Yocum, Tim Snodgrass, and Larry Mittendorf will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the Byrn Funeral Home.
