Steven Lynn Butler

Steven Lynn Butler, 75 of Boaz, KY, passed away peacefully at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Unit, Mercy Lourdes on November 17, 2025.
Steve was born on February 28, 1950, in Mount Vernon, IL. Steven graduated from Symsonia High School in 1968 and graduated from Paducah Tilghman Trade School after completing the welding course. Steve married Judy Gore Butler in December 1980 at their home by the Reverend J.T. Carter. Steve retired from General Tire. He loved to farm and raise a garden. He always had a smile on his face.
Steve is survived by his son Shannon (Annie) Gore, grandchildren Addison Gore, Max Gore, Day Gore, Nicholas Cox, Catherine Campbell, Jack Campbell, and great granddaughter Rosie Bundy, brother Eddie (Debbie) Atherton. Steve is also survived by one sister-in-law, LouAnn McLemore; one brother-in-law, Jerry Dale Lamkin; and many cousins who were more like siblings. Steve was blessed to have so many close friends who have gone the extra mile over the last few years when needed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, a very special friend Gail Jeffries, his mother Betty Butler Atherton, father Terry Neil Jones, grandparents Frank and Lillie Butler, uncles Ben Butler, Bill Jones, Aunts Lavern Russell, and Artelia Vodene Eddings.
All family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life at his Fiddlesticks Farm located at 2765 State Route 408 E, Boaz, KY, beginning at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Services will be conducted by Brother Duane Fields. We would like to share a special thanks to the 3rd-floor nurses at Mercy Lourdes and the hospice nurses for the kindness and care given towards Steve. Byrn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
