The Graves County Student Angler team kicked off its first tournament of the year with a strong showing, even in the fall fishing conditions, which are known to be challenging. The team set a new Graves County Schools record for the largest bass weighed at a tournament. Out of 63 boats competing, one Graves County boat placed in the top five, three in the top 10 and five in the top 25.

Tournament Results:

  • Blake Robertson and Knox Stone — 7 lbs. 6 oz.
  • Crasston Clark and Emmett Metzger — 7 lbs.
  • Elliott Thomasson and Charlie Driscoll — 6.5 lbs. (result list correction)
  • Kyson Moore and Mason Knight — 2 lbs. 7 oz.
  • Coleman Winstead and Nathan Vaughn — 1 lb. 4 oz.

Emmett Metzger earned the tournament’s big fish award, landing a 7-pound bass and setting a new team record. Elliott Thomasson also celebrated a milestone, weighing in a 6.5-pound largemouth at his first tournament.

The program thanks its boat captains for their time, support and commitment to getting the team on the water.
