First Kentucky Bank has launched a community food drive aimed at supporting local food pantries ahead of the holiday season. The effort, called the “Stuff the Pantry Before the Turkey” Food Drive, is part of the bank’s FKB S.E.R.V.E.S. program, which focuses on community service and local support initiatives.
The bank is asking residents, organizations and businesses in Mayfield and Graves County to donate non-perishable food items to help families in need. Donations can be dropped off at the First Kentucky Bank locations on Sixth Street and South Street. Monetary donations may also be mailed to First Kentucky Bank, 424 S. 9th St., Mayfield, KY 42066.
Donations will be accepted through Friday, Nov. 28.
A few examples of goods needed included but are not limited to, cereal, peanut butter, canned soup, canned vegetables, canned beans, canned meats, dry pasta, rice, and applesauce.
Bank representatives said the food drive is intended to provide assistance to local families during the holidays and to strengthen community support networks.
“Every contribution helps feed families right here in our community,” the bank said in a statement. “When we come together, we make our communities stronger, warmer and brighter.”
